About SEMKA Karate

What is SEMKA?

Samurai = Honourable Japanese Warrior
Enlighten = Reaching Of Ones Goals
Mushin = Clear Mind
Karate = Wado-Ryu
Academy = School of Excellence

Samurai Enlighten Mushin Karate Academy (S.E.M.K.A.) is under the direction of Sensei P.D. Elliott 6th Dan in the style of Wado-Ryu Karate.

This group consists of like minded Instructors who want to train and develop Wado Ryu as taught by the Founder Master Hironori Ohtsuka.

Apart from Wado-Ryu Karate other aspects within SEMKA are taught including Self-Defence, Healing, Tai Chi, Tensho Chi and Meditation.

SEMKA student's code of conduct:

  1. As a student of Wado-Ryu Karate I strive to understand the ‘WAY’, to practice this art to the best of my ability, and to commit myself to the training.
  2. By respecting myself I respect all others
  3. By knowing myself
  4. By never breaking a promise
  5. By not speaking ill of others
  6. By not being afraid of anything
  7. By respecting the opinions of others.
  8. By having compassion and understanding for everyone
  9. By never forgetting to be appreciative
